Due to Russia's war invasion of Ukraine, tens of thousands of Ukrainians escaping the war, they found refuge in a small town in western Ukraine.
The local director decides to involve non-professional actors-migrants in the embodiment of his old dream - to stage the play "King Lear".

Maria Primachenko only needed paper, the cheapest gouache and her own imagination to have personal exhibitions in Paris, Montreal and Prague. Her works inspired Marc Chagall, Pablo Picasso called them geniuses, the director Sergei Parajanov came to visit her home.
When Maria was 7, she contracted polio and has been on crutches ever since. She completed only four classes.
She never mixed paints and made the brush herself, from cat hair.
On February 27, 2022, a Russian rocket hit the local history museum in the village of Ivankiv, where the master's paintings were kept. The invaluable legacy was saved by locals and her grandson Peter, who now serves in army to protects homeland from invaders.

5-7 short stories of Irpin's quarter inhabitants, between lines 9 and 10, not too far from Kyiv. Locals called this quarter "SMU", and for more than a month they standed against death, feared with the genocide from Russian troops. Aviation, missile and artillery shelling. Mines and tanks in the yards. The occupiers mined the bodies so relatives could not bury them.
Incredible memories of basement life, without food, water, or medicine. Deaths of the loved ones. And unique stories of rescue, when children and mothers were derived out of the SMU quarter under fire.
The horror of war united fates. Amateur shooting of the heroes. Author's voice of who kept the diary of the occupation.

The main conflict of the film (and for the hero) is between the "epic" in past and the "civilian" routine in present, between the charismatic nature of the hero and his depression. It is also a conflict between parts of the film - reality and artistic vision (the world of humorous stories written by the hero).

In 1990, the Granite Student Revolution took place, which caused a series of events that led to Ukraine's secession from the USSR and becoming an independent state. But for 33 years now, Ukraine has been in the field of influence of the Russian Federation in both economic and cultural dimensions. So did Ukraine really become independent? Why does each subsequent Ukrainian revolution end with a return to this field of influence? What mistakes are made by the leaders of all Ukrainian Maidans from time to time? Our film will examine the events of the Granite Revolution through the prism of all subsequent movements of resistance to Russia's influence and will answer the question: "What should be the next Maidan and what should be after it, so that in the end Ukraine becomes truly independent.

It's 30s of the XX century. Western Ukraine is under the Second Poland Republic. Danylo Chervonyi, an ordinary student, is fascinated by the idea of creating an independent Ukrainian state. Four friends forced to begin an armed confrontation with the authorities. However, when the Polish secret police follow in their footsteps, the boys are faced with a choice that forever changes their lives and takes them to different sides of the barricades.
