On Kyiv Day - May 25, at 5:30 PM - a special screening of the film “Falling” will take place at the Zhovten cinema. The film will be presented by director Maryna Stepanska and creative director of the Dovzhenko Center Olena Honcharuk.
FALLING is a story of irrational love between two little people during great changes in the country.
Anton is a 27-year-old former musical prodigy who could not cope with the expectations placed on him, returning home after several years of studying in Switzerland and five months spent in a psycho-neurological dispensary near Kyiv, where he was treated for alcohol addiction. These 5 months fall on the “winter that changed us” of 2013-14. So, for Anton, a new life means not only the absence of friends, old habits and the business of his whole life - music, but also any rules by which one can fit into the new reality.
The screening takes place within the framework of the KYIVKINOFEST festival.
The main theme of this year's festival is "Kyiv through the ages".
This is an annual film festival dedicated to Kyiv Day, designed to combine cinema with urban identity, re-actualize cult Ukrainian films and show films that, due to various circumstances, are still little known to the modern viewer.
